What is Arcana de Amor?

Arcana de Amor was born a decade ago as a channel for medicine music in service of depest healing and spiritual growth. It was created by Carlos Ancalmo and Nelia Vishnevsky and has been supported over the years by many dear friends and fellow traveleres on this Path. Envisioned as a live beating heart of the New York’s medicine music community, it exists as a bridge connecting seekers from different walks of life, spiritual groups, or backgrounds. As facilitators and song guardians, we are firmly rooted in Brooklyn, NY and fully devoted to upholding the highest healing vibration in the very mindst of this vibrant city, where it’s so much needed.

With a sense of deepest respect and honoring the underlying spiritual root traditions of the Earth, we offer medicine songs from different world traditions in many languages, such as English, Spanish, Portuguese, Hebrew, Arabic, Sanskrit, Russian, Ukrainian, Lakota, Saponi, Quechua, Tupi-Guarani, Hantxa Kuin, Yawanawa, and more. Some of our inspirations are: yogic kirtan chanting, meditation, Hasidic devekus nigunim as “songs that transcend syllables and sound,“ shamanic icaros, Carioca’s White Nights, and ancient grandmas singing in Ukrainian villages.
